History
Anotec was founded in 1987 by four industry pioneers determined to provide a superior high silicon iron anode to the market.
These four men crafted a distinct chill cast process using metal molds rather than sand, producing the world’s best high silicon cast iron solid stick anodes.
Within two years, Anotec began producing tubular anodes with unique features such as a tapered cable connection seat and epoxy sealant retention grooves — qualities that are not available in conventional centrifugally-cast anodes.
In 2004, the development of the Z-Series began — a new line of tubular high silicon iron anodes with features that significantly improved performance and economics, while maintaining the finest quality for which Anotec is proudly known.
Today, Anotec is family-owned and operated, maintaining the same superior quality and exemplary service established at its founding. Now offering a variety of anodes in our product line, we partner with premium distributors and agents worldwide, attesting to the wide acceptance and reliability of Anotec anodes.
Location
Anotec is located in Langley, British Columbia, in a facility intentionally built for optimum productivity and quality. Conveniently located near major highways, rail terminals, and the Port of Vancouver, we are ideally situated for global container trade.

Timeline
- 1987
Santokh Sahota, Jim Holloway, Alex Stables, and Eckhardt Schmidt founded Anotec after developing the chill cast process and creating solid stick anodes — our very first product.
- 1988
Tubular anodes were added to Antoec’s product line.
- 1992
Anotec adds internal chemistry testing (via mass spectrometry) to its quality assurance.
- 1993
Anode sleds were added to Anotec’s product line. A temporary foundry was established in Sumas, WA (USA).
- 1996
Anotec relocated to our current facility in Langley, British Columbia (Canada).
- 1998
Anotec achieves ISO 9001 certification.
- 2004
Z-Series tubular anodes were added to Anotec’s product line.
- 2014
NSF 61 certification awarded for Anotec’s entire product line.
